The new website at http://guphotosoc.co.uk/ has a number of features, listed here in a slightly patronising but hopefully easier to remember “five pillars” :)
- The WordPress installation on http://guphotosoc.co.uk/ means a number of us can manage page content, add items to the calendar and post to the blog
- The flickr group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/guphotosoc/ is still a great way to share photos with the society and, like last year, will likely be our main discussion platform.
- The mailing list can be signed up for or unsubscribed from here
- Twitter http://twitter.com/guphotosoc/ can be updated via SMS or email; hopefully this will be a good way of informing the group of small changes to plans (e.g. “we’re meeting in Jim’s Bar tonight as the Food Factory is closed”)
- IRC is group instant messaging and can be accessed via the web here. Real-time communication! For more info about this check out the contact page.
Hopefully these features will help us plan an unprecedented number of events this year, and prevent the gradual trickle of people losing interest as nothing happens. Here are those links again with pictures!
