Our first meeting of the new academic year will be held on…
MONDAY 19 SEPTEMBER in LT2 – Boyd Orr Building at 1900 (7pm)
The first meeting’s traditionally the time when everybody new gets to meet each other and get to meet all of our more established members. To that end we’ve decided that it would be a really great idea to try and make cameras together – specifically pinhole cameras.
The Boyd Orr building is the ten-storey concrete building opposite the Medical Building on University Avenue.
If you want to make a camera at the meeting you’ll need to bring:
- a pair of scissors
- double-sided sticky tape
- a can of your favourite non-alcoholic beverage
- a roll of cheap photographic film (this one’s optional, you can add it later)
We’ll provided everything else, including the cardboard template you’ll need to make the camera.
Afterwards we’ll retire to one of the many pubs in the vicinity of the university (most likely Curlers Rest on Byres Road).
A quick note on Membership
The membership fee for all members this academic year is £5.
This will be collected at meetings throughout September.
You’re welcome to come along to one or two meetings before you pay, but the society relies on the support of its members in order to fund our activities.
