Hi there. Submissions for the 2009/10 GU Photosoc Exhibition are now closed, thanks to all the photographers than sent us a total of nearly 300 images!

What’s all this exhibition lark?

This year the Glasgow University Photographic Society will be putting on an exhibition in the cool west-end bar & restaurant Firebird (you can check out their site here). Around thirty images will be on display and sold via silent auction throughout the duration of the exhibition. The key dates are:

• Friday 5th March 2010: Deadline for submissions.
• Monday 15th March 2010: Selected photographers informed. Preparation of prints.
• Monday 29th March 2010: Opening night event of the Exhibition at Firebird.
• Tuesday 27th April 2010: Closing night event. Winning auction bids announced.

A charity auction, you say?

The images exhibited will be sold off at the end of the exhibition. All profits will go the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice (you can check out their site here). Printing and display costs will be covered by the Society and its sponsors. If you’re interested in printing things yourself, or for any other queries, see the terms of submission for more details. We hope all photographers will be happy to contribute to this worthy cause.
